We had the sweetest evening with Kayden and Ben during their engagement session at Lema Ranch in Redding, California! These two made the trip up from the Bay Area for their session, and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful evening to explore one of our favorite local locations together.

Lema Ranch always offers so much variety, and it was the perfect backdrop for documenting this exciting season of their lives. We spent the evening walking the trails, stopping along the olive tree pathway, and capturing portraits near the pond as the sun began its descent. The light was absolutely gorgeous, creating that soft golden glow photographers dream about. Even though it had been a warm summer day, a refreshing breeze followed us throughout the session, keeping everyone comfortable and making the evening even more enjoyable.

One of our favorite things about engagement sessions is getting to slow down and simply spend time with our couples. Kayden and Ben were so easygoing and fun to be around, and it didn't take long for them to settle into the session and enjoy being together in front of the camera. Their joy and excitement for their upcoming wedding was evident in every moment we captured.

We're especially excited because we won't have to wait long to see these two again! In just a few short weeks, we'll be heading to McCloud to photograph their July 4th wedding at The Giddy. We already know it's going to be such a beautiful celebration surrounded by family, friends, and plenty of unforgettable moments.

One of the biggest reasons we love engagement sessions is because they allow us to connect with our couples before the wedding day arrives. Spending time with Kayden and Ben ahead of their wedding gave us the opportunity to get to know them better, learn how they naturally interact together, which pose is “their pose”, and help them become comfortable in front of the camera. By the time the wedding day arrives, the nerves are gone, the posing feels natural, and everything flows so much more smoothly. It truly makes such a difference, and we always leave these sessions feeling even more excited for what's ahead.

Kayden and Ben, thank you for making the trip to Redding and trusting us to capture this special season for you both. We had such a wonderful time together and cannot wait to celebrate with you at The Giddy this July!
