I recently had the sweetest newborn lifestyle session in Orland, California, with a precious baby boy named Ellis and his loving parents. From the moment I walked into their home, I could feel the joy and love surrounding this little one.
We began the morning with cozy snuggles on the bed, capturing those tender moments between new parents and their baby boy. From there, we moved outside for a few portraits on the front porch, soaking in the charm of their beautiful home, before heading back inside for some relaxed shots on the living room couch. Baby Ellis had his own ideas for the day and decided he wasn’t quite ready for a nap, so we took a break to let him nurse and get comfy.
Once he was ready, I swaddled him up for some classic newborn portraits—and oh my goodness, he looked absolutely adorable. While he was sleeping, we were also able to capture him in his crib and in the family’s heirloom cradle, which made for some of my favorite images from the session. Those generational pieces add so much meaning and history to newborn photos. Love it!
We wrapped up the session on the back porch, where their two beautiful dogs joined in for some sweet family portraits. It was such a joy to see this family’s love for each other—human and furry members alike!
It was truly an honor to document these precious early days for baby Ellis and his parents. They welcomed me with such warmth, and I hope our paths cross again in the future. Sessions like this remind me of why I love what I do—preserving not just the moments, but the love and stories behind them.
