A Beautiful Family Photo Session at Moonstone Beach – Trinidad, California
Our Family Beach Photos
Our trip to the Northern California coast this summer was one for the books! We stayed just 20 minutes from Moonstone Beach in Trinidad, California, and spent nearly every day with our toes in the sand and the salty ocean breeze in our hair. The highlight of our trip, though, was the day we gathered the whole family together for a special beach photo session. (Thank you to our dear friend, Laura, for manning the camera when I was in the shots!)
This wasn’t just any “family picture day.” It was all of us – my parents, my sister, Sarah, her husband and their two kiddos, then Matt and I with our four kids. Sarah took the reins on outfit coordination, and she absolutely nailed it. She chose soft, coastal tones of light denim, white, and tan – the perfect palette for a beach family session. Against the backdrop of Moonstone’s rugged rocks and shimmering waves, the colors looked stunning.
We laughed, played, and let the kids run around between shots, which made the whole experience so relaxed and joyful. There’s something about photographing family in a place you love that makes the memories even sweeter.
Once we wrapped up the big group session, it was time for something extra special – Sarah and her husband’s 10-year anniversary photoshoot. They changed into a new set of outfits, and we pulled out some fun props, including a gold frame we placed in the sand to “frame” them in the scene. The golden light, the love and laughter between them (especially when Raul attempted the dip and kiss shot! LOL! I’ll never forget that, hahaha!), and the little creative touches made it such a sweet and meaningful part of the day.
I can already picture these photos hanging on our walls at home – reminders not just of how much the kids have grown, but of the beautiful moments we shared together as a family. Moonstone Beach will always have a special place in our hearts, and now we have the images to match those memories.
