There’s something incredibly special about intimate weddings, and Melissa and Michael’s ceremony in Douglas City, California was the perfect reminder of just how meaningful they can be. Tucked away in the hills, a private cabin surrounded by tall pine trees created the most serene and romantic setting for their big day!
The ceremony took place right on the porch of the cabin, where rows of chairs were set up for their closest family and friends. With the soft sound of the breeze moving through the pines, Melissa and Michael exchanged heartfelt vows and promised forever to each other. It was such a sweet moment, one that felt even more magical in such a peaceful setting!
Before and after the ceremony, we spent time capturing stunning portraits on another section of the porch. The light filtering through the trees made every photo feel dreamy and timeless. Melissa looked absolutely radiant in her gorgeous gown, and the joy between her and Michael made every moment so easy to capture. They both were a dream to work with!
One of my favorite parts of the day was how thoughtful Melissa and Michael were about their guests. They wanted everyone to leave not only with memories but also with portraits of their own. It was such a unique and generous idea, and you could tell how much it meant to their family and friends. Smiles, laughter, and happy tears filled the afternoon, making it a day no one will forget.
This wedding was the perfect reminder that love doesn’t need a big stage to shine. With a cozy cabin, the beauty of nature, and the people who matter most, Melissa and Michael created a day that was both simple and deeply meaningful. It was such an honor to be part of their celebration and to capture the start of their forever together!
