There’s something incredibly meaningful about a wedding day that’s simple, intentional, and centered on what truly matters.

Joanna and Chris chose to begin their marriage with a courthouse wedding, surrounded by close family. No distractions, no pressure—just the two of them stepping into forever together.

After saying “I do,” they met me at Turtle Bay Gardens in Redding, California for a portrait session and some family photos, and it honestly felt like the perfect continuation of their day. The gardens gave us the most beautiful backdrop—soft light, peaceful pathways, and space to just be present.

Joanna wore a stunning white floral skirt (with pockets… yes, pockets!!), and I don’t think I need to explain why that instantly made it even better. There’s just something about a wedding outfit that feels both beautiful and comfortable—it fit her so well and added such a natural, effortless feel to their portraits.

These are the kinds of wedding days that remind me why I love what I do. Not because everything is elaborate or perfectly styled, but because it’s real. It’s rooted in connection, intention, and love that doesn’t need a big stage to be meaningful.

Joanna and Chris, it was such an honor to capture the beginning of your marriage. Your day was beautiful in all the ways that matter most.
