A Joyful Spring Church Wedding in Chico, California

Ashley and Eric’s wedding day in Chico, California was spectacular! The sun shown brightly and a soft breeze chanced through the trees during their first look. It was the perfect setting to celebrate the star of their life together. And it was such an honor getting to be there to capture it all!
The day began with a sweet first look on a peaceful country road in Durham, California. The spot was lined with lush greenery and towering trees, a setting that created such a serene backdrop for Ashley and Eric to share a quiet moment together with private vows before heading to the church.
The bridal party joined in after the first look and we had so much fun together. I didn’t realize until we were in the heart of the bridal party portraits, that the bridal party consisted of two married couples! How fun is that! The girls wore gorgeous hunter green flowy dresses, while the guys sported grey suits and hunter green silk ties.
The ceremony took place at Firm Family Church in Chico, a welcoming church nestled in a shopping plaza. A water feature out front added a peaceful touch as guests mingled after the ceremony and children played. The ceremony itself was so heartfelt and touching. I couldn’t help but tear up when Eric had special vows not just for Ashley, but also for Ashley’s two daughters! It was precious. The girls plus two of Eric’s nieces were the flower girls and they wore beautiful floral crowns that were handmade by a family friend.
Every detail of the day reflected Ashley and Eric’s strong community of love and support. From the floral arrangements to the 3-tiered wedding cake, their friends jumped in with their wonderful talents, making the day even more special. Guests gathered outside the church at the end of the festivities with a joyful send-off! Bubbles filled the air as Ashley and Eric made their exit! The end of a spectacular day and the start of the next chapter in their love story.
