Rebekah + Jason | Engaged

Rebekah + Jason | Engaged

A Nevada City, California Destination Engagement Shoot

Gosh, where do I start…This engagement session was so beautiful and the Personeni Ranch had unlimited options to photograph this gorgeous couple in! It was overwhelmingly beautiful. Rebekah & Jason were so great to work with, easy-going, and looking so great in both their outfits!

When Matt and I first arrived they took us for a tour of the ceremony site. The location was a stunning area right next to a beautiful pond. The surrounding fence was lined with beautiful flowers and roses, with majestic oak trees nearby and a great big barn in the background. I am so excited to photograph their special day in September! It’s going to be epic!!!

We started in front of another big barn that had huge doors that opened wide and hay bales stacked inside. I told Rebekah that it would’ve been perfect for a dance floor! But it was a little too far away from the ceremony site. We then went to another part of the ranch that had these huge redwood trees and the sunlight was glowing through the trees! Rebekah had changed into a stunning white cocktail dress while Jason sported an awesome camo button-up! The combination of the light and their outfits made some pretty epic portraits!

As the sun was starting to set, we went out into one of the great big open fields for some romantic shots. We even got some cows in the background! Matt took the drone up for this and we got some pretty incredible video footage too. Rebekah & Jason were pros! They followed my instructions to a “T”! After the field shots, we headed up the side of a small mountain and got some glowy sunset shots. Then ended with another pond and beautiful wildflowers. What a glorious day at the ranch!

So now you may be wondering how I met Rebekah! Glad you asked. :) I met Rebekah several years ago when she started volunteering for Nor-Cal Think Pink (a breast cancer awareness group in our community that I’ve been a part of for many years). She did a great job heading up one of our events and we were sad when she moved away. But I don’t blame her for moving! She reunited with Jason and this beautiful relationship blossomed!

Rebekah told me that her and Jason went to high school together. They both had gone separate ways in life but then God brought them back together years later. It’s amazing how God has a way of doing that! It’s beautiful!

I don’t know about you, but I love hearing the proposal story!! Since Jason & Rebekah have a huge love for the great outdoors, their proposal story takes place on the Sierra Buttes (8,857 feet in the air!). After they had hiked all the way to the top, Rebekah could tell Jason was acting a little “off”. She wasn’t exactly sure why until she turned to face him and he had a gorgeous diamond ring outstretched in his hand. Holding it up to her, he finally spoke the words “Will you marry me?”! How romantic!!!! Beautiful proposal story!

Rebekah & Jason, I can’t wait for your special day!! Enjoy every moment together and we’ll see you soon!

Love, Jen
