Makenzie + Jon | Engaged!

Makenzie + Jon

Engagement Session | Camden House

I just knew as soon as I met these two that this engagement session was going to be so much fun! And it was!! We spent the evening at the Camden House just north of Whiskeytown Lake. The weather was perfect and we got some amazing glowy/dreamy light streaming through the trees. One of the many reasons why I love living in Northern California is the landscape and beautiful light!

Jon and Makenzie met a little over two years ago at Summit Church of Fairfield. They both enjoy fishing and camping, attending church, and taking day trips together. When Makenzie first contacted me, Jon hadn’t officially proposed yet! They knew they wanted to get married at Gover Ranch here in Anderson, CA and that vendors were booking up fast, so they agreed to start booking their wedding vendors ahead of time! :) Which made it exciting for me to get to anticipate that email saying he had popped the question!

That email came a couple of weeks later! Jon planned this one out to perfection. He knew he couldn’t get Makenzie dressed up on a Saturday without her being suspicious…so he scheduled a family portrait session for her family! (Genius!!) While they were out of the house, he decorated the backyard with candles, rose petals, lights, a picture board, and a giant lit sign that said: “Marry Me?” When she returned home, she was greeted with a giant bouquet of red roses and Jon on bended knee. Isn’t that just the sweetest!!

We are just so beyond excited to get to capture these two in this special season of their lives! We just love them and Makenzie’s parents too! We got to meet them at the session as well and they are so sweet! Can’t wait for their big day to come in October!

The heart made from rocks was so fun!!! Glad Matt spotted it!!
