Anderson Winter Maternity Session | Sarah & Raul

Winter Maternity Session

Anderson River Park

We are sooo excited and can’t wait to meet my Sister and Bro-in-law’s little baby girl! It could be any day now! Sarah’s due date is January 28th. So we are counting down the days. Every time my sister texts or calls me, my heart skips a beat. Haha! I’m so thankful that we had a break in the rainy weather so we could quickly capture these images for them. I kept watching the dates going “um, we need to get these pictures done quickly!” We met at Anderson River Park and walked to the big field, actually, Wayne got to drive his little ford truck the whole way! It was still overcast, but we found some glow and had some fun!

So in case you hadn’t heard what Sarah & Raul decided to name this sweet bundle of joy, I’ll go ahead and share the story with you. But first, it kinda starts with how they picked my nephew Wayne’s name. Originally my sister was leaning towards the name Winston but Raul wasn’t too thrilled with it (and neither was our mom). They were visiting with my grandparents in Washington and Grandma was telling them about our dad’s great uncle who served in the Navy during World War II and was lost at sea. His name was Wayne Louis. As soon as Sarah & Raul heard the name, they both looked at each other and knew that was it! So my nephew is named after someone special in our family. That being said, this sweet little girl will carry a very special person's name as well! Actually…two special individuals! :)

Sarah and I never got to meet my Grandma Lillian (our mother’s mom). She passed away not too long after my mom and dad married. She had Lupus, an autoimmune disease that wore out her body much faster than normal. She was diagnosed with it when she was very young (teenage years, I believe) and she lived till the age of 47. But she certainly was never forgotten, for Sarah and I have been told many stories that helped us paint a picture of what she was like. In fact, many family members have told me that I am a spittin image of my grandma. And I do see a lot of resemblance by putting photographs side by side of the two of us, which is such an honor to me to resemble her. She could sing too! She was a kind-hearted woman, faithful to her family and full of love. So, in honor of this wonderful woman, my sister (and bro-in-law) decided to name their baby girl, Lillian Corinne!

Baby Lillian’s middle name honors someone else in our family that’s super special to us…Our Mommy! Her middle name is Corinne also. Our mom carries many of the attributes of Grandma Lillian and is one of the most amazing women I know. She has taught us so much about life and been there for us through thick and thin. She sacrificed for us and put her family before herself in everything she did. I’m so excited my sister chose the names she did for her children. The names carry on a legacy of those that lived before us, who helped shaped our world and our generation. And they will always be remembered!

Stay tuned and watch for another post announcing the arrival of Miss Lillian Corinne!!!

Love, Jen

Isn’t Wayne adorable with his little ford truck?! I just love him! :)
