Machmuller Family Session at the Camden House | California Photographer
I absolutely love getting to work at historic locations, and when the Machmuller family was in need of a California Photographer to shoot their family session at one, they contacted me! This particular family session was going to be at the Historic Camden House! This beautiful home popped up at the beginning of the California gold rush, where the owner Charles Camden set up a successful mining operation and sawmill in what would eventually become French Gulch, CA. The home is still intact and is a beautiful site for historic tours. But on the day of the Machmuller’s family session, the home was closed for renovations! However, that doesn’t mean we weren't able to get some amazing photos on the property!
Greg and Sunni were an amazing couple, and the kids in their family were so sweet too! Brice, in particular, is five years old, and so cute. He reminded me of my own nephew, and he had this great smile… but I did have to coax it out of him for some photos! He got tired more quickly than the rest, and was just tuckered out near the end. But regardless, we were still able to get some great photos with them!
Sunni was so beautiful inside and out! She just wanted to make sure that everyone was happy and having a good time. When I was pairing family members for various poses, I could hear her behind me talking and cheering her family on. And, to make it even better, she was super stoked and excited when I showed her the back of my camera too! Love it!
We started at the large field beside the Camden House with the iconic barn in the background. Next up, we grabbed a few shots near the creek that runs through the property. The area was so beautiful, with plenty of small boulders lining the pathway, so it was a great opportunity for the Machmullers to just be in their element!
Then we moved to the side of the House and got some great shots of the family against the rock siding of the home. We did several group photos there and just had a great time!
Additionally, we went to the footbridge for a few photos. Y’all, they even went under the bridge for a few of these shots! How cool is that! And we finished the session at the top of the bridge as the sun started to dip down.
