Our Family Session | 2021

Peterson Family Session!

Anderson, California | NorCal Family Photographer

When you’re a photographer, sometimes it’s really hard to get your own family session on the books! Haha! Then there’s the problem of, how am I going to take the pictures when I need to be in them…? There’s a couple options…bring a tripod and run back and forth like a crazy person…hire another photographer to take them for you and do all the editing…OR call your good friend who used to do photography to come take the pics with your own camera! AND the last options is what we ended up doing!

Ashley, our amazing neighbor and great friend as well, used to do photography several years ago before she dove into her Scentsy business instead. After doing their family pictures this season, I mentioned the need to get ours done as well and my trouble with scheduling. She offered to help me and I am sooo happy that she did!! She did such a great job!

I had planned these outfits in the late summer and I totally had a vision of how I wanted our session to look like. The problem was finding the location! I didn’t want oak trees or the super dark evergreen type or manzanita! Haha! And we just have a ton of that around our area. So I originally thought we were going to have to travel somewhere else to achieve my vision. But then crunch time came and I knew I just needed to find someplace around town. I recalled there being some eucalyptus trees near the old paper mill that my dad used to work at. So after church on Sunday, just a few hours before the session was scheduled, I drove by that area and came across this magical spot!!! I knew this was it when I saw it and that it would bring my vision to fruition! And it sure did! I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out!! :)

Thanks so much Ashley!!!

P.S. If you’re wondering where I got the outfits…Jared and Matt’s khaki chino’s and light blue shirts came from Target. Mandy’s sage green vintage dress, Megan’s blue jean dress, and my mauve button up dress all came from SHEIN. Emily’s dress she had already and I believe she got that from Ross or Target. :)

This one is just my absolute favorite! It’s definitely getting printed nice and big on our wall!!

So proud of these kiddos!!!! Love them so much!
